A Japan-Netherlands Modern Art Exhibition in Nagasaki
Yvonne Boelens, the popular Dutch artist also will be present
Art Communication, who has been conducting Art Festivals worldwide, will hold “Japan-Netherlands Friendship Exhibition ‘WINDOW TO THE WORLD nljp’” at Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture in September 2007.
Next year, 2008, is 150th anniversary of trade agreement between Japanese and Dutch governments which was closed in year 1858. The year 2009 will be 400th anniversary since official opening of Dutch trading post at Hirado with official permit issued by Shogun Ieyasu okugawa. We will commemorate these historical years between both countries.
Prior to these anniversaries, this exhibition will host an unique Japan-Netherlands Modern Art Friendship Exhibition.
Out of general participation of Japanese artists 200 of outstanding works are selected by judge teams honoring also, Kisho Kurokawa, a renowned architect and exhibited along 50 works of popular Dutch artists in one venue. We expect many visitors not only from Nagasaki Prefecture but also all over KyuShu.
